Palestinian Journalist Syndicate condemns attack on journalist Rawa Abu Morshed

Journalist Rawa Abu Morshed was attacked by Hamas security police officers for not wearing hijab while reporting from in Juhr al-Dik region of Gaza Strip. The Palestinian Journalist Syndicate (PJS) issued a statement and condemned the attack against the journalist. “Hamas police should publicly apologize to the journalist and those who attacked her should be punished,” the PJS demanded in the statement.

News Center- Journalist Rawa Abu Morshed was attacked by a Hamas security police officer for not wearing hijab while reporting from in Juhr al-Dik region of Gaza Strip. The Palestinian Journalist Syndicate (PJS) issued a statement and condemned the barbaric attack against the journalist. “On April 25, journalist Rawa Abu Morshed was stopped by two Hamas security police officers in the Juhr al-Dik region of Gaza Strip while she was reporting from there. She was held in detention until Hamas female security guards arrived. The security police officers confiscated our colleague’s mobile phone and shot her video.”

“We will follow this case”

In the statement, the PJS stated that the journalist was taken to Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza for medical treatment, “Our colleague filed a criminal complaint against the police officers. As PJS, we will follow this case. The Hamas police are responsible for the unethical and brutal attack. Hamas police should publicly apologize to the journalist and those who attacked her should be punished.”
