Yemeni model Intisar al-Hammadi subjected to violence in prison

Yemeni sources reveal that Yemeni artist and model Intisar al-Hammadi, who has been imprisoned in a Houthi prison in Sanaa for more than one and a half year, was subjected to violence in prison.

News Center- Yemeni sources reveal that Yemini artist and model Intisar al-Hammadi, who has been kept in a Houthi prison in Sana'a for more than one and a half year, was subjected to violence in prison.

Huda Al-Sarari, Yemeni lawyer and human rights activist, reported that Intisar al-Hammadi’s nose was broken in prison and called on international organizations to visit the young woman and check on her situation. Huda Al-Sarari stressed that many female prisoners committed suicide after being subjected to violence in Houthi prisons.

What happened?

Yemeni artist and model Intisar al-Hammadi, 20, was physically and verbally abused after being detained by Houthi forces in Sanaa on February 20, 2021, and that she had to sign documents while blindfolded. She was sentenced to five years in prison in November 2021 on charges of “committing an indecent act and possessing drugs”.
