Shengal (Sinjar)- Since the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria announced that the prosecution process of ISIS members would start, the Turkish state has been intensifying its attacks on NE Syria. In recent days, the Turkish state has targeted towns, villages and pioneers of Rojava by using drones and artillery. The reactions to these attacks are increasing in four parts of Kurdistan and abroad. In the interview with NuJINHA, Yazidi women expressed their reaction to the ongoing attacks on Rojava.
‘We should struggle together’
Emşe Qurqurkî, one of the Yazidi women living in Shengal, noted that they have been struggling for nine years. “We have stood by the people of Rojava for nine years. The Kurds face the same situation not only in Rojava but also in four parts of Kurdistan. In four parts of Kurdistan, the Kurdish people have the same ideology and struggle for freedom. The attacks of the Turkish state are against our ideology and struggle for freedom. The Turkish state attacks both Rojava and Shengal. We must unite against the attacks. We should know that our enemy will never stop. We should always remember the genocides committed against us. The enemy has been intensifying its attacks because it does not want us to unite. We should grow our resistance in order to frustrate the war policies of the enemy,” said Emşe Qurqurkî.
‘The people of Rojava did not leave us alone during the genocide’
Another woman of Shengal, Semîra Sebrî thinks the people of Rojava and Shengal have a connection with each other. “Our enemy has never defeated us because we have resisted until now. The people of Rojava did not leave us alone during the genocide committed against us. We will never forget this. We are the siblings, friends of the people of Rojava and we will always stand by each other. We are ready to do our part for the people of Rojava. We will not allow the enemy to win by resisting.”
