News Center – According to reports from human rights sources, Mahshar Barandain, a detainee in Evin Prison in Iran, remains deprived of appropriate medical care despite her deteriorating health. Informed sources have stated that her health condition has worsened over the past months, and the denial of specialized treatment has raised serious concerns about her life.
Mahshar Barandain suffers from severe heart disease, in addition to two tumors – one in the lower throat area and another near the cerebellum. According to the prison doctor’s diagnosis, both tumors require urgent surgery and specialized medical care. However, no steps have yet been taken to transfer her to treatment centers outside the prison.
According to sources close to her family, the tumor near the cerebellum has affected her motor and neurological function, causing disorders in balance, movement, and speech. It is said that her speech has become intermittent and accompanied by obvious difficulty.
Reports also indicate that the delay in treatment has caused the tumors to grow, and the swelling in the lower throat area is now visibly apparent. Additionally, another mass can be felt behind her head under her hair, which increases fears about the progression of her medical condition.
