Sulaymaniyah- On February 3, Lenya Ahmet (34) was shot and killed by her uncle Hamza Hamid, a ISIS member, in Chamchamal, a town located in Sulaymaniyah Governorate, Kurdistan Region.

“Lenya Ahmet was brutally killed by her uncle, Hamza Hamid, a drug addict and ISIS member,” Lenya Ahmet’s family said in a statement. “He made contact with ISIS in 2016. Therefore, he was sentenced to prison but he was released from prison even though he said, ‘I am a member of ISIS’. We do not know how he was released. We ask all people not to spread false information about this incident in the media or on their social media accounts. We are in the midst of great pain and sadness and ask you to help us.”
