‘Without a ceasefire in Gaza, children will become a lost generation’
“Children suffer first and suffer most in conflicts and wars. In Gaza, it is no different,” UNRWA Commissioner-General, Philippe Lazzarini said Thursday on social platform X.
News Center- “Children suffer first and suffer most in conflicts and wars. In Gaza, it is no different, Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of the UNRWA, said in a post on X.
“Children have gone through what no child anywhere in the world should see or undergo. Far too many were killed, far too many were injured and far too many will be scarred for life. Those who survived are in deep trauma,” he added.
“Their schools have been destroyed and they lost a whole school year, with no education or play. The war robbed the children of Gaza of their childhood. Without a ceasefire they will become a lost generation, easy to fall prey to exploitation,” Philippe Lazzarini said, calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza “for the sake of children.”
At least 37,232 Palestinians, including 15,517 children and 10,279 women have been killed, 85,037 others injured in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023.
