WHO: 174 attacks on Sudan’s health facilities

Since April 2023, 174 attacks have targeted health facilities in Sudan, resulting in 1,171 deaths and hundreds of injuries, The World Health Organization (WHO) in Sudan said in a post on Wednesday.

News Center – Health services in Sudan have been severely disrupted amid ongoing clashes between the army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) since April 2023.
In a statement posted on the digital platform X, the World Health Organization (WHO) in Sudan reported that 174 attacks have targeted health facilities across Sudan, resulting in 1,171 deaths and 362 injuries. It noted that in 2025 alone, 38 attacks on health services have already taken place, causing 933 deaths and 148 injuries.

The organization stressed that health workers should never face the risk of death while trying to save lives, urging all parties to “Protect health care. Always.”

The Sudan Doctors Network reported that on Tuesday, an RSF attack on the village of al-Ghabshan al-Maramrah in North Kordofan killed seven people and injured 13.
