‘We will resist the Turkish attacks’

Speaking about the ongoing Turkish attacks on Afrin and Shahba, the displaced women of Afrin said, “The aim is to displace us again and break the resistance but we will never take a step back.”

Shahba- The displaced people of Afrin have been living in Shahba since Afrin was occupied by the Turkish state in March 2018. However, Shahba has been under the Turkish attacks; the latest Turkish attacks were on the Til Rifet and Şêrewa town of Shahba and the Afrin Region. In the Turkish airstrike on the Kilût village of Şêrewa, 40-year-old Nazîre Welo Mustafa, 10-year-old Mihemed Remadan Elîwî and Azad Hisên were injured. A citizen named Kol Dedo was injured in the Turkish airstrike on Til Refat.

NuJINHA spoke to displaced women of Afrin living in Shahba about the ongoing Turkish attacks on the region. 

‘We will resist the attacks’

Almaz Hiso is a displaced woman of Afrin, pointing out the Turkish attacks targeting civilians. “We were displaced due to the invasion of the Turkish state. The Turkish attacks on Shahba target civilians. The aim of the ongoing Turkish attacks is to intimidate us, break our resistance and displace us again. The Turkish state attacks every part of Shahba. Women and children are killed and injured in the attacks. We will never bow to the Turkish attacks. We will resist the attacks to the end,” Almaz Hiso told NuJINHA.

‘They cannot break our resistance and strong will’

Hêvîn Eloş began to speak by condemning the ongoing Turkish state. “Erdoğan has intensified his inhuman attacks; he targets civilians. He uses heavy weapons to kill civilians. The international community and human rights organizations do nothing to end these inhuman attacks. We hope that Afrin will be liberated soon. The Turkish attacks cannot break our resistance and strong will.”

‘We will not take a step back’

 Zeyneb Xelîl, another displaced woman of Afrin, thinks the ongoing Turkish attacks aim to displace them again. “Erdoğan wants to displace the people of Afrin living in Shahba again. His main aim is to destroy the democratic system of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria. The Turkish state should know very well that we are aware of the aim of the Turkish state and that we will not take a step back.”
