Sulaymaniyah - Turkey continues to attack the Kurdistan Region. The young people living in the region know that the Turkish attacks on the Kurdistan Region are aimed at annihilating the Kurdish people. The young people in the region face many challenges and cannot access information about the current situation in the region due to the increasing unemployment rate, economic crisis and the policies of the Kurdistan Regional Government. For this reason, many young people living in the region do not know anything about the ongoing Turkish attacks on their region. Nevertheless, some young people are aware of the attacks aiming to occupy their region and call on their peers to stand against the attacks.

“Young people do not know anything about the occupation”

A young woman from the Kurdistan Region, Şoxan Abdurehman said that many young people living in the Kurdistan Region could not get any information about the region because they have no income due to the increasing unemployment rate. “What will the young people in this country do if the government and authorities do not act as the leaders of the people, if they do not meet the needs of the people? Young people do not want to live in this country anymore due to financial difficulties faced by them. Young people should struggle to have a good administration and a planned government. The citizens of the Kurdistan Region also have a great responsibility. Young people should not stay silent against this current occupation and they should take a stance against the occupation of their lands. I call on the government and the relevant parties to take a stand against these attacks and occupations and stop the occupation of our borders.”

“Young people can use social media to get information”

Buşra Hidayet, another young woman in the Kurdistan Region, stated that many young people do not know anything about the attacks aiming to occupy their region. “Young people can use social media to get information about the current situation of their region. Since young people struggle with economic challenges, they do not have any information about social problems and national consciousness. Now, Young people should unite and stand against all occupiers,” she said.

“Our region and nation are under the attacks of the invaders. As young people, particularly young women, we must strongly condemn these attacks. All Kurdish people should unite and stand against these attacks,” said Sulin Bextiyar, another young woman living in the Kurdistan Region.
