81-year-old Makbule Özer to return to prison
81-year-old Makbule Özer was released from prison in 2022 due to her poor physical health; however, she will probably return to prison because of the report prepared by the Forensic Medicine Institution saying that she could stay in prison.
News Center- 81-year-old Makbule Özer was arrested in the Edremit district of Van province on May 9, 2022 and then sentenced to two years and one month in prison. She was released from prison in September 2022 when her prison sentence was suspended for a year after the Forensic Medicine Institution (ATK) prepared a report saying, “she could not stay in prison.”
The Mesopotamia Agency (MA) reported that the ATK prepared another report after a year. The agency reported that the ATK sent a letter to the court on 11 November, saying, “According to the existing documents and the results of the examination of Makbule Özer, she can stay in an R-type (rehabilitation) prison.”
