Victims of Paris Massacres commemorated in Makhmur
A seminar was held in the Makhmur refugee camp to commemorate those who lost their lives in the massacres that took place in Paris on January 9, 2013 and on December 23, 2022.
Makhmur- Sakine Cansız (Sara), one of the founders of the PKK, Fidan Doğan (Rojbîn), Paris Representative of the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK), and Leyla Şaylemez (Ronahî) lost their lives in the massacre that took place in Paris on January 9, 2013. Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) Executive Council Member Emine Kara (Evîn Goyi), Kurdish singer Mîr Perwer (Mehmet Şirin Aydın) and Abdurrahman Kızıl lost their lives in the massacre that took place in Paris on December 23, 2022. A seminar was held in the Makhmur refugee camp to commemorate the victims of the two massacres.
After a minute's silence, Şiyar Erkendî, a member of the Martyrs Families organization in the camp, made a speech. Şiyar Erkendi started her speech by condemning the Paris massacres and said, “The life of comrade Sakine was a struggle. She was targeted by the enemy because she resisted. Comrade Sakine never bowed to the enemy. Her courage encouraged all revolutionary women.”
The seminar ended after the people attending the seminar chanted slogans such as “Long live leader Apo”, “Martyrs are immortal” and “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi”.
