Til Temir (Tell Tamer)- On Sunday, 12 civilians, including women and children, were killed in a Turkish drone attack on the village of Al-Mistriha, Raqqa’s Ain Issa town. On Monday, Turkish drones targeted the Mihermela and Hermel villages of Zirgan (Abu Rasin), killing one civilian and injuring two others.
‘We will protect our region’
NuJINHA spoke to women of Til Temir condemning the ongoing Turkish attacks on North and East Syria. Eyhan Yûnis, resident of Til Temir, called on international forces and human rights organizations to “put pressure on the Turkish state to end the attacks. Killing civilians is a war crime. Children’s rights organizations should raise their voices and protect children in war zones. Our message to Erdoğan from Til Temir is that we are here and we will protect our region.”
‘The system built by women is targeted’
Women are particularly targeted in the attacks, Eyhan Yûnis said. “The attacks target the gains of the women’s revolution. Leader Öcalan says the 21st century will be the century of women's freedom and the Turkish state cannot tolerate this. The system built by women is targeted. As women of North and East Syria, we are strong and protect the region to the end. I strongly criticize the silence of the international community against the attacks targeting women. Women are victims of war; they are killed, kidnapped and attacked. I call on the international community not to remain silent against the ongoing attacks.”
‘Our voice must be heard now’
Ronîda Mihemed, another woman of Til Temir, also condemned the ongoing attacks on North and East Syria and said, “12 women and children from a family were killed in a Turkish drone attack. This attack is a war crime, a crime against humanity. Our voice must be heard now. Why does the international community remain silent? If Erdoğan’s attacks are not stopped, many people will be killed across Syria. Erdoğan should be prosecuted in international courts for killing civilians in Syria.”
