Tülay Hatimoğulları visits Hatay
DEM Party Co-chair Tülay Hatimoğulları visited Hatay on the occasion of the holiday of Eid al-Fitr.
Hatay- People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Co-chair Tülay Hatimoğulları visited Hatay as part of her program for Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan. Tülay Hatimoğulları first visited the family of Ali İsmail Korkmaz, a university student killed during the Gezi Park protests, with a delegation.
Emel Korkmaz, mother of Ali İsmail Korkmaz welcomed Tülay Hatimoğulları and the delegation and said, “You did not leave us alone. Thank you all. Your solidarity strengthens us. We will always keep My Aliş (Ali İsmail Korkmaz) alive with you. I wish you a happy holiday.”
Tülay Hatimoğulları made a speech during the visit. “We are with the family of Ali İsmail Korkmaz. We never forgot the martyrs of Gezi. We will never forget Ali İsmail, Ahmet Atakan, and all the martyrs of Gezi. I also wish a happy holiday to their families. They will always live in our hearts and our struggle.”
‘The wounds have been healed by solidarity’
Tülay Hatimoğulları and the delegation members then visited the family of Ahmet Atakan, who was killed in Hatay during the Gezi Park protests, and the family of Halil Aksakal (Mazlum Aktaş), who was killed on May 18, 2015 while fighting ISIS in North and East Syria, and the families of 33 people, who were killed in the Suruç bombing that took place in the Pirsûs (Suruç) district of Riha (Urfa) Province on July 20, 2015.
In her speeches, Tülay Hatimoğulları drew attention to the solidarity after the Feb.6 earthquake. “The wounds have been healed by solidarity,” she said.
