Three journalists to be referred to courthouse today
At least 116 people, including journalists Ferhat Sezgin, Dilan Şimşek and Sema Korkmaz were forcibly detained by police in Istanbul on Wednesday. The detained people are expected to be referred to the courthouse today.
News Center- Thousands took to the streets of Istanbul on Wednesday to protest a decision from the Van Election Board to prevent the DEM Party’s candidate for Van Metropolitan Municipality from taking up his role as mayor, despite having won Sunday’s local elections.
At least 116 people, including Mesopotamia Agency (MA) reporter Ferhat Sezgin, PİRHA reporter Dilan Şimşek and daily newspaper Yeni Yaşam reporter Sema Korkmaz, were forcibly detained by police.
The detained people are expected to be referred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan today.
