Tayyip Erdoğan revokes decision 'Disaster Risk Area' for Hatay one year ago
CHP MP Alpay Antmen announced on his social media account that AKP’s President Tayyip Erdoğan revoked the “Disaster Risk Area” decision for six neighborhoods of Hatay’s İskenderun district on February 4, 2022.
News Center- The magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 quakes that struck Turkey, Kurdistan and Syria on February 6, 2023 caused destruction in many cities. Although Turkey is an earthquake zone, no measures have been taken to prevent destruction. Republican People's Party (CHP) Mersin MP Alpay Antmen announced on his social media account that AKP’s President Tayyip Erdoğan revoked the “Disaster Risk Area” decision for six neighborhoods of Hatay’s İskenderun district, where the earthquakes killed many people and destroyed many buildings, on February 4, 2022.
The revocation decision was published in the Official Gazette on February 5, 2022. According to the published revocation decision, some areas in the Meydan, Cumhuriyet, Modernevler, Numune, Pınarbaşı and Esentepe neighborhoods of Hatay’s İskenderun district were declared as risky areas on September 16, 2013.
