Taliban ban girls from attending education courses in Bamyan
In Bamyan, the only province in Afghanistan where girls above the sixth grade were allowed to attend language and science courses, the Taliban have banned girls from attending education courses.

Kabul- Bamyan was the only province in Afghanistan where girls above the sixth grade were allowed to attend language and science courses for the last two years. However, the Taliban forces attacked a center providing education courses for girls during the visit of the Taliban’s minister for the promotion of virtue and prevention of vice in the province in the beginning of August. After the attacks, all courses in the province were closed down.
In an interview with NuJINHA, Z.R., one of the girls attending the courses, talked about the day when the Taliban forces attacked the center. “We were all in the classroom. Although all the girls were wearing long black dresses, some men stormed the classroom. They insulted and threatened us. We were told that we no longer have the right to attend education courses.
Women banned from visiting Band-e-Amir National Park
On August 26, 2023, Taliban’s minister for the promotion of virtue and prevention of vice, asked all religious clerics and security agencies to forbid women from visiting Band-e-Amir National Park at a meeting in Bamyan.
