News Center- Marzieh Hamidi, an Afghan taekwondo athlete, announced Monday on social media platform X that she has launched an online campaign under the hashtag “LetUsExist” to protest against the gender apartheid in Afghanistan, “I’m inviting all of you to support Afghan women and to fight for gender equality!” she said in her post.
‘Women do not exist in Afghanistan’
The video shared by her on social media platform X says,“Today, the Supreme Leader of the Taliban has officially banned Afghan women from showing their face in public. Women must cover their face in public, including their eyes, not wearing attractive clothing, tight clothes or clothes that reveal the shape of their body. This is not the only thing that’s happening for women in Afghanistan. Women are not allowed to go to school, to do sports, or to have a job. They do not exist in Afghanistan and there is gender apartheid!”
In addition, Afghan women protest the Taliban’s morality law and try to make their voices heard on social media platforms under the hashtag “AWomansVoiceIsNotAwrat”.
