“The resistance for victory will continue in four parts of Kurdistan because to live is to resist,” said Nesrin B., one woman from Rojhelat Kurdistan, condemning the ongoing Turkish attacks on Tishreen dam.

Sanandaj- The Turkish state and Turkish-backed factions continue to attack North and East Syria while they have intensified their attacks targeting civilians holding a vigil on the Tishreen dam. Seven people have been killed in the attacks targeting civilian convoys since January 8, 2025. Despite all the attacks, the resistance on the dam continues.

Support from Rojhelat to Rojava

“As women of Sanandaj, we condemn the attacks of the fascist Turkish state on Rojava, especially on the Tishreen dam,” said Nesrin B., a women’s rights defender in Sanandaj, a city in Rojhelat Kurdistan (Eastern Kurdistan or Iranian Kurdistan). “The people of the region go to the Tishreen dam to protest the attacks; however, the Turkish state targets and attacks them. We condemn the ongoing Turkish attacks and express our support to our sisters and mothers resisting there. The Turkish state should know very well that resistance is the spirit of life in Kurdistan.”

‘Kurds must support each other more than ever’

The attacks of the Turkish state on the Kurdish people are war crimes, Nesrin B. emphasized, adding: “The Turkish state has been committing war crimes against the Kurds; however, these crimes are not reported by news outlets, causing many people in the world to be unaware of these crimes. The Kurds must support each other more than ever.”

‘We stand with the people of Rojava’

Resistance and struggle have become the reality of women in North and East Syria, Nesrin B. told NuJINHA. “They always fight against injustices, becoming a symbol of resistance for the women of Rojhelat Kurdistan and the Middle East. As women of Rojhelat Kurdistan, we always stand with the people of Rojava. The resistance for victory will continue in four parts of Kurdistan because to live is to resist.”
