Support from Sudanese women to earthquake victims

Sudanese women set up a stand in Khartoum, capital of Sudan, to collect money for earthquake victims in Turkey, Kurdistan and Syria.

 Khartoum- Women’s organizations and NGOs in Sudan have set up a stand in Khartoum to collect money for the earthquake victims in Turkey, Kurdistan and Syria. Speaking about the solidarity stand, Dr. Soha Kamal, Secretary-General of the Sudanese Mixed Marriage Organization, said, “We set up this stand to support the earthquake victims in Syria and Turkey.  We will soon visit the affected areas to provide aid and shelter equipment to earthquake victims. We will also provide financial support to them.”

 ‘We are looking for ways to send humanitarian aid to Syria’

Reporting that two Sudanese citizens lost their lives in the earthquake, Soha Kamal said, “Since the earthquakes occurred, we have been coordinating with the Sudanese embassy and the Sudanese community to learn the situation of Sudanese women in areas affected by the earthquakes. At first, we were told all Sudanese women in the areas affected by the earthquakes were in good health; however, we then learned that two Sudanese women have been missing. Dead body of a Sudanese woman was found.” Pointing out that they have difficulties in finding a way to send humanitarian aid to Syria, she said that they are looking for ways to send humanitarian aid to Syria.

They will visit the areas affected by the earthquakes

Yara Hussein Wada Allah, head of a NGO, expressed her condolences to those who lost their loved ones in the earthquakes and said that they would visit the areas affected by the earthquakes soon.

‘Solidarity will alleviate their pain’

Awatef Abdel-Bar is one of the women collecting money for the earthquake victims. Pointing to the importance of solidarity with the earthquake victims, she said, “Solidarity will alleviate the pain of earthquake victims. Many women’s organizations and NGOs work together to collect money for the earthquake victims. We will provide both psychological and financial support to the victims soon.
