Support from Peace Mothers in Sanandaj to Warisha Moradi
Peace Mothers in Sanandaj have started a hunger strike to support the hunger strike started by political prisoner Warisha Moradi in Evin prison against the death penalty in Iran.
News Center- Warisha Moradi, a women’s rights defender and member of the East Kurdistan Free Women Society (KJAR) imprisoned in Evin prison, started a hunger strike on the World Day against the Death Penalty, annually observed on October 10, to protest the death penalty in Iran.
On Friday, Peace Mothers in Sanandaj gathering at the foothills of Mount Abidar in Sanandaj set fire to the ropes symbolizing execution and announced that they started a 3-day hunger strike to “support the hunger strike started by Warisha Moradi.” The mothers chanted “No to execution, yes to free life” slogan and called on international human rights organizations to take action against executions in Iran.
