Sit-in protest of Şenyaşar family continues on its 732nd day
“When parliamentary immunity ends, the door of prison will open,” said the Şenyaşar family today, on the 732nd day of their sit-in protest.
Riha - The sit-in protest held in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were murdered in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız in the Suruç (Kurdish: Pirsûs) district of Urfa province on June 14, 2018, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar continues on its 732nd day.
In the morning, Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar began to hold their sit-in protest for justice in front of the courthouse by unfurling their banner reading, “Justice for the Şenyaşar family”.
United Nations report said that the Turkish-backed groups “continued to commit torture, including rape, and cruel treatment, murder, hostage-taking and pillage, all of which may amount to separate war crimes” in areas they invaded in NE Syria.
“Despite many requests for parliamentary inquiry into the massacre that took place at the Suruç State Hospital, the requests were rejected by the votes of the AKP (Justice and Development Party) and the MHP (Nationalist Movement Party). A new government and parliament will shed light on this massacre. When parliamentary immunity ends, the door of prison will open,” the Şenyaşar family posted today on their social media account.
