Sit-in protest for justice enters its 821st day
The sit-in protest staged by the Şenyaşar family in front of the Urfa Courthouse has entered its 821st day.
Riha (Urfa) - The sit-in protest held in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were murdered in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP’s former Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız in Pirsûs (Turkish: Suruç) district of Urfa province on June 14, 2018, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar continues on its 821st day.
In the morning, Emine Şenyaşar came in front of the courthouse from her home in Pirsûs to seek justice again. Unfurling a banner reading, “Justice for the Şenyaşar family”, Emine Şenyaşar gave information to everyone passing by the courthouse about the massacre committed against her relatives.
‘Injustice still persists’
“A little more patience. A little more struggle. Justice is imprisoned in the courthouse behind the banner reading justice. The Ministry of Justice has changed; however, injustice still persists. Our struggle for justice is on the 821st day,” said Şenyaşar family on their social media account by tagging the official social media accounts of the Ministry of Justice and Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç.
