Sit-in protest for justice enters its 665th day

“Those who remain silent against the persecution will lose in Urfa! They will lose in Türkiye!” the Şenyaşar family posted today.

Riha - The sit-in protest held in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were murdered in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız in the Suruç (Kurdish: Pirsûs) district of Urfa province on June 14, 2018, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar has entered its 665th day.

In the morning, Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar came in front of the courthouse to hold their sit-in protest for justice by unfurling a banner reading, “Justice for the Şenyaşar Family”.

“2023 will be the year of JUSTICE! Those who remain silent against the persecution will lose in Urfa! They will lose in Türkiye! We will not give up our fundamental rights.  Victory belongs to those who believe (in justice),” the Şenyaşar family posted today on their social media account.
