Riha - The sit-in protest held in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were murdered in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız in the Suruç district of Urfa province on June 14, 2018, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar has entered its 602nd day. In the morning, Emine Şenyaşar and Ferit Şenyaşar came in front of the courthouse to hold their sit-in protest for justice by hanging a banner reading, “Justice for the Şenyaşar family”.
Health of Emine Şenyaşar deteriorating
Speaking at the protest, Ferit Şenyaşar stated that his mother’s health condition has been deteriorating. “The mother can no longer bear this persecution and this injustice. In the upcoming days, we will hold our sit-in protest in front of the building of the AKP. We will hold our sit-in protest in front of the Ministry of Justice and the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. We demand the authorities to end this injustice and unlawfulness immediately,” he said.
“In Urfa, people and prosecutors responsible for ensuring justice have been entering the courthouse by ignoring this tragic situation for 602 days. The prosecutors close the doors to the mother. The mother is looking for an official to tell her demands,” the Şenyaşar family posted today on their social media account by tagging the official social media accounts of Turkey’s Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ and Urfa’s governor Salih Ayhan.
