Sharifeh Mohammadi resentenced to death
The retrial of Sharifeh Mohammadi, a labor activist imprisoned in Lakan Prison in Rasht, was held at Branch 2 of the Revolutionary Court of Rasht on Thursday. The activist has been sentenced to death again.
News Center- Sharifeh Mohammadi, a labor activist imprisoned in Lakan Prison in Rasht, has been resentenced to death on charges of “armed rebellion against the state”, the Campaign to Defend Sharifeh Mohammadi announced on Thursday.
On July 4, 2023, Sharifeh Mohammadi was sentenced to death on charges of “armed rebellion against the state”. On October 21, 2024, Iran’s Supreme Court overturned the death sentence handed down to Sharifeh Mohammadi. On December 19,2024, the retrial started at Branch 2 of the Revolutionary Court of Rasht.
The activist was sentenced to death again on the same charges by Branch 2 of the Revolutionary Court of Rasht on Thursday.
On December 5, 2023, Ministry of Intelligence agents arrested Sharifeh Mohammadi and transferred her to a detention center in Rasht. A few days later, she was transferred to solitary confinement in Lakan prison. On December 28, 2023, she was transferred to a Ministry of Intelligence detention facility in Sanandaj, In February 2024, she was retransferred to Lakan prison.
