News Center- Shakila Monfared, a political prisoner imprisoned in Evin prison, was transferred to Taleghani Hospital on August 1, 2024 due to her deteriorating health condition. After three days, she was taken back from the hospital to Evin prison on Sunday, her brother, Ashkan Monfared, said on social platform X.

On August 1, he wrote on social platform X that his sister was transferred to Taleghani Hospital from Evin prison due to her deteriorating health condition.

On July 24, a new indictment was issued against Shakila Monfared by Tehran’s District 8 Prosecutor’s Office on charges of “destruction of public property and disrupting order.”

On July 26, 2024, Shakila Monfared was arrested and transferred to Evin Prison while she was on medical leave although her treatment was incomplete. She was subjected to physical assault while being arrested, according to her brother.

Shakila Monfared started a hunger strike in protest against two new charges, Ashkan Monfared said on July 31.
