Report:Houthis Commit 80 Violations Over Three Months in Taiz

A recent human rights report revealed the doumentation of dozens of violations committed by the Houthis in the city of Taiz,southwestern Yemen,over a three-month period,amid ongoing shelling,siege,and the delerioration of humanitarian conditions.

News Center — Violations committed by the Houthis continue across various regions of Yemen, where civilians live under the weight of shelling, siege, and deteriorating humanitarian conditions. These violations include killings and abductions, as well as attacks on public and private property, exacerbating civilians’ suffering and making daily life increasingly difficult.

Yesterday, Monday, December 23, the Information and Training Center for Human Rights issued a new report titled “Taiz… Between Disease, Shelling, and Siege.” The report documented dozens of violations committed by the Houthis in the city of Taiz in southwestern Yemen over a three-month period. It recorded 80 cases of violations between April 1 and the end of June 2025, amid continued shelling, siege, and worsening humanitarian conditions.

The report noted that the violations included six cases of killing, among them a child and a woman, as well as 21 injury cases affecting eight children and two women, resulting from direct shelling and landmines planted by the Houthis. It added that several of the injured sustained severe wounds leading to limb amputations, causing permanent disabilities.

The report also documented nine abduction cases and one assault carried out by the Houthis during the same period, as part of what it described as the continued targeting of civilians.

According to the report, violations against private property reached 43 cases during the documented period, including partial damage to 28 homes and the complete destruction of five houses, in addition to damage to six vehicles as a result of Houthi shelling.

The report further recorded the storming of a house and vandalism of its contents, as well as the bombing of a house and a weapons depot, in addition to the death of a number of livestock. It emphasized that these violations reflect the scale of the ongoing suffering faced by residents of Taiz amid continuous attacks and a steadily worsening humanitarian situation.
