Relatives of martyrs demand ISIS members be prosecuted
Families of those who lost their lives while fighting ISIS call on countries to establish an international tribunal so that ISIS members can be prosecuted for their crimes.
Hasakah- The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) constantly calls on countries to establish an international tribunal so that the arrested ISIS members can be prosecuted according to international laws. Finally, the AANES announced in a written statement that it would establish a tribunal to prosecute ISIS members; however, the international community still remains silent.
On February 23, 2015, ISIS attacked the town of Til Temir, also known as Tell Tamer. On the 9th anniversary of the attack, the women of Til Temir demanded ISIS members be prosecuted.
‘We keep demanding the prosecution of ISIS members’
“Nine years have passed since ISIS attacked our town,” said Jînda Ehmê, sister of Azad and Viyan who lost their lives while fighting ISIS. “Countries remain silent against the killing of our siblings while defending their lands. All ISIS members must be prosecuted at an international tribunal for their crimes. We will keep demanding this no matter how much time passes.”
Seher Ebdilmecîd’s son Şahîn Misrî lost his life while fighting ISIS in Deir ez-Zor. “ISIS has committed crimes against children, women and many villages and holy places in our region,” she said, “As mothers of martyrs, we demand an international tribunal be established so that ISIS members can be prosecuted. My other son is now a fighter of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to defend his people. I hope that the whole world gets rid of the scourge of ISIS now. It is time to unite against ISIS and its partners. All countries must support us to defeat this terrorist group. In order to eliminate this terrorism, we must prosecute ISIS members.”
