The Greek government-affiliated press outlets reported the police raid on the camp against Kurdish refugees as a “gesture” to the Turkish state just before the NATO summit to be held in July.
Protests will be held
After the police raid, the Democratic Kurdish Cultural Centre in Greece released a statement condemning the action of the Greek police and the Greek Ministry of Asylum and Migration and stated that they will make a detailed statement in the coming days. Today, Kurdish people will hold a protest in the Akadimia neighborhood of Athens at 5pm.
