News Center- The Women's Defense Units (YPJ), the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Internal Security Forces, with the support of the International Coalition, have launched a large-scale operation called “Permanent Security” against ISIS in and around al-Hol camp in northeast Syria.
“ISIS has carried out attacks against the Internal Security Forces and camp residents, especially in the southern and northern of the camp,” said YPJ Media Center Spokesperson Rûken Cemal and Qehreman Murad, member of the Internal Security Forces, at a press conference in al-Hol camp located in Jazira Canton of North and East Syria on Wednesday.
‘The operation will ensure the security of the region’

This operation aims to take control of al-Hol camp and its surroundings, capture ISIS members and their collaborators. The operation will clear al-Hol camp and its surrounding villages from ISIS terrorism and ensure the security of the region.”
According to the statement, the operation has been launched in and around the camp based on the information and confessions given by arrested ISIS members. “According to the received information, ISIS sleeper cells are planning new attacks.”
Recalling that three members of the Internal Security Forces were martyred when ISIS members conducted an attack on a checkpoint on the road between al-Hol and Shaddadah on September 26, 2024, the statement said, “This shows that ISIS still poses a threat to the region. A large-scale operation against ISIS sleeper cells is a must.”
