People of Halabja boycott commemoration held by government

On the 35th year of the Halabja Massacre, the people of Halabja boycotted the commemoration ceremony held by the government.

News Center- The Kurdistan Regional Government held a commemoration ceremony in Halabja today, on the 35th year of the Halabja Massacre. Boycotting the commemoration ceremony, the people of Halabja commemorated those who were killed in the massacre by visiting the Martyrs' Cemetery in Halabja.

At the cemetery, the people released a statement saying, “They should serve us instead of holding a ceremony. They should provide services to Halabja. This ceremony is held every year and it reminds us of our wounds.” The people also criticized the government for remembering them only on the anniversary of the Halabja Massacre.
