Peace Mothers visit Şenyaşar family
Members of the Peace Mother Initiative in Mardin visited the Şenyaşar family on the 619th day of the sit-in protest for justice.
Riha - The sit-in protest held in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were murdered in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız in the Suruç district of Urfa province on June 14, 2018, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar has entered its 619th day.
Today, the members of the Peace Mothers Initiative in Mardin visited the Şenyaşar family to be in solidarity with the family. Democratic Regions Party (DBP) and Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Mardin and Urfa provincial co-chairs accompanied the mothers.
“Death and war must stop now”
Making a speech during their visit, Besna Günay, member of the Peace Mothers Initiative, said that they seek justice, adding, “We do not want more people to die in prisons. Death and war must stop now. Emine Şenyaşar has demanded justice and rights for about two years. We demand justice and rights be ensured.”
HDP Mardin Provincial Co-chair Berivan Bahçeci said, “End the unjust practices against the Şenyaşar family. End this lawlessness. Mothers should not experience this pain anymore. We will always stand by the Şenyaşar family. We demand justice for the Şenyaşar family.”
Emine Şenyaşar told what they have been facing to the visitors and demanded the release of her son (Fadıl Şenyaşar) and justice for her killed relatives.

“Turkey has returned to Law and Justice, its only way for its liberation. If a step is taken to ensure justice, this step must be first taken at the Şanlıurfa Courthouse,” the Şenyaşar family posted today on their social media account by tagging the official accounts of the Urfa Governorate and Urfa Governor Salih Ayhan.
