Panel in Cizre Region on World Refugee Day: Thousands live in refugee camps

The number of the people living in the refugee camps in the Cizre Region was announced at the panel held in the region on the World Refugee Day.

Qamishlo- Cizre Region Human Rights Organization and Cizre Region Lawyers’ Association held a panel in the city of Qamishlo to mark the World Refugee Day, observed every year on June 20.

The panel was held at the conference hall of Rojava University with the motto, “Forced displacement is a crime against humanity” with the participation of the representatives of NGOs, lawyers and many students of the Rojava University.

During the first section of the panel, Cizre Region Human Rights Organization member Evin Cuma made a speech about her work on the humanitarian values ​​of being refugees and shared the figures in the report prepared about the situation of refugees and displaced in North and East Syria. 24,565 families, 107,093 citizens, live in the refugee camps in the Cizre Region while 6,660 families, 33,820 citizens, live in the refugee camps in the Euphrates Region, according to the report. During the second section of the panel, the legal situation of Syrian refugees and displaced people, and the project of relocating one million Syrians to the occupied areas of NE Syria were discussed.
