Operation based in Ankara: 19 people detained in 5 cities
Police raided many houses in five cities as part of an investigation launched in Ankara. 19 people have been detained for having participated in Newroz celebrations.
News Center- Police raided houses in five cities last night as part of an investigation launched in Ankara. 19 people have been detained.
According to the received reports, the investigation has been launched against the people, who participated in Newroz celebrations in 2023. The names of some detained people are: Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) council member Bedriye Irmak, Nebahat Çalpan, Halil Güzel, Barış Güzel, Ahmet Güzel, Aykut Bozkuş, Cahit Gümüş, Mehmet Üstündağ, Yasin Bahçivan, Samet Ayataç, Ramazan Ağgöz and Kadir Aytaç.
Being accused of “propagandizing for a terrorist organization”, the detailed people have been reportedly held in the Ankara Police Department.
