Officers suspended for using violence against woman at Habur border gate

Two customs and enforcement officers have been reportedly suspended from duty for using violence against a woman at the Habur border gate.

News Center- A video showing that customs and enforcement officers use violence against a woman at the Habur border gate located in the Silopi district of Şırnak province was shared on social media platforms. After the video was shared on social media platforms and sparked anger, the Şırnak Governorate has announced that two customs and enforcement officers have been suspended from dty.

 According to the statement issued by the Şırnak Governorate, an investigation has been launched into the incident by the governorate.

Şırnak Bar Association will take steps

The Şırnak Bar Association has also issued a statement regarding the incident. “In the video shared on social media platforms, it is seen that an elderly couple was subjected to violence by the customs and enforcement officers at the Habur Border Gate. Our bar association has been carrying out necessary investigations into the incident and will take steps to initiate an immediate legal proceedings against those concerned,” the statement said.
