News Center- The protests that began in Iran following the killing of Jina Mahsa Amini by the Iranian so-called morality police on September 16, continue. While many activists and protesters have been arrested, many protesters have been killed or abducted. Armine Abbasi is one of the protesters who were abducted. Yesterday, the Iranian authority announced that Armine Abbasi has been jailed after no news was received from her for a week.
Armine Abbasi (20) was taken to Imam Ali Karaj Hospital by the IRGC security agents on October 18 after she suffered internal bleeding and had signs of being raped. Her family rushed to the hospital to see their daughter but before they reached the hospital, IRGC agents kidnapped her from the hospital and took her to an unknown place. While the family and relatives of Armine Abbasi looked for her, the Iranian authorities remained silent. Yesterday, the Prosecutor General in Alborz Province announced that Armine Abbasi has been jailed.
The prosecutor denied the allegations about the rape and stated that she was taken to a prison after having been taken from hospital.
Armine Abbasi has been reportedly jailed for her social media posts and she is accused of “making and throwing Molotov cocktails” and “sharing provocative posts on social media.”
