New Escalation in Gaza and Wide Breach of Ceasefire Agreement
Three killed, including child, in an Israeli airstrike in central Gaza, and a new expansion of the Yellow Line in a continued breach of the ceasefire agreement.
News Center_Israeli forces continue to expand their deployment within what is known as the “Yellow Line,” a step that constitutes a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement and increases the risks of displacement and exacerbates the humanitarian situation in the eastern and central areas of the Strip.
Since dawn today, Monday, June 29, the governorates of the Gaza Strip have witnessed a significant field escalation. An Israeli drone carried out a strike targeting a gathering of civilians on Al-Baraka Street near the Wadi Al-Salqa Bridge in Deir Al-Balah, killing three Palestinians, including an eight-year-old child, and injuring others with varying wounds.
This targeting came amid ongoing military operations conducted by Israeli forces in several areas of the Strip. Local sources reported that Israeli forces carried out at least four demolition operations northeast of Khan Yunis, coinciding with heavy gunfire from military vehicles stationed east of the city, in addition to artillery shelling targeting areas near the Nuseirat and Bureij camps, and the vicinity of the Wadi Gaza Bridge.
In the northern Strip, two Palestinians were killed and others injured in an Israeli drone strike targeting a gathering of citizens in the Al-Salateen area west of the town of Beit Lahia. An eight-year-old child was also shot in the head while in the Al-Qasasib area of the Jabalia town.
Wide areas of Khan Yunis also witnessed intense artillery shelling targeting the vicinity of the Bani Suhaila roundabout and the city center, resulting in the death of 13-year-old Alin Al-Farra, in addition to a civilian killed in another strike targeting the Tabariya area in the Mawasi Khan Yunis.
Concurrently with the shelling, Israeli forces continued to expand their deployment within what is known as the "Yellow Line"—a security belt imposed by Israel inside the Gaza Strip, from which Palestinians are prevented from approaching.
According to eyewitnesses, Israeli military vehicles moved the concrete blocks marking the line westward by approximately 150 meters near the electricity company in the Nuseirat camp, a step indicating the expansion of Israeli-controlled areas, in violation of the ceasefire agreement.
Local sources confirmed that the expansion included areas east of Deir Al-Balah, the Al-Masdar village, the Al-Maghazi camp, Wadi Gaza, east of Gaza City, the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, the Jabalia camp, and the Al-Atatrah area northwest of Beit Lahia, where tanks advanced hundreds of meters amid random gunfire and intensive drone surveillance.
According to reports, bulldozers have begun leveling tents, rubble of homes, and agricultural lands, while pushing new yellow concrete blocks into residential areas. This has reduced available space for Palestinians and increased the risks of displacement, particularly in the central governorate, which includes the Al-Maghazi and Bureij camps and the eastern areas of Deir Al-Balah.
According to data from the Gaza Ministry of Health, the death toll since the beginning of the ceasefire has risen to 1,041 killed and 3,372 injured, while the number of deaths since the beginning of the Israeli genocide on October 7, 2023, has exceeded 73,000 martyrs, in addition to more than 173,000 injuries and widespread destruction affecting 90% of civilian infrastructure in the Strip.
