Neam Bedel, member of the TAJÊ, commented on the recent attacks of the Turkish-backed factions on Aleppo, Shahba, Manbij and Til Temir and said, “Our people must join the resistance along with the fighters.”
HÊVÎDAR ŞENGALÎ
Shengal (Sinjar)- Following the attacks of Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) on the Syrian city of Aleppo, the Turkish state and Turkish-backed factions attacked the Shahba region of North and East Syria, hosting thousands of displaced people of Afrin, Manbij and Til Temir, also known as Tell Tamer.
The attacks are in control of international forces, posing a threat to the regions controlled by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), said Neam Bedel, member of the Yazidi Free Women's Movement (Kurdish: Tevgera Azadiya Jinên Êzîdî-TAJÊ).
“The people of Rojava have resisted all kinds of attacks and oppression for over 13 years and they have united thanks to the thoughts and ideology of leader Apo (Abdullah Öcalan).”
‘If there is no Rojava, there is no Shengal’
Speaking about the recent attacks on Rojava, especially Aleppo and Afrin, she said, “The people of Afrin have been displaced for the second time. The attacks of Turkish-backed factions displaced them from Afrin to Shahba and now they are displaced from Shahba to Tabqa or Raqqa by the recent attacks. We support the people of Rojava to the end. If there is no Rojava, there is no Shengal. I call on our people to unite against the attacks.”
‘We do not trust the Iraqi government’
Neam Bedel thinks that the attacks on Rojava also pose a threat to Shengal. Recalling the attack of ISIS on Shengal in 2014 and the stance of the Iraqi government against the attack, she said, “We do not trust the Iraqi government anymore. We must support our defense forces and people. We must stand with our defense forces and join the resistance along with the fighters.”
‘Everyone must rise up’
The armed groups attacking Rojava have the mindset of ISIS, Neam Bedel stressed, adding: “Even though they have different names, they have the same mindset. I call on everyone defending human rights to rise up against the attacks. We will do our best for Rojava because there is no difference between Rojava and Shengal. The people of Shengal stand with the people of Rojava to the end.”
