Narges Mohammadi chants ‘Jin, Jiyan, Azadi’ after temporarily freed from prison

Nobel Peace Prize winner Narges Mohammadi chanted the “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” slogan when she was temporarily released from Evin prison on Wednesday to undergo medical treatment.

News Center- Nobel Peace Prize winner Narges Mohammadi, a human rights defender imprisoned in Evin prison, was released from jail for three weeks on medical grounds on Wednesday. Following her temporary release, a video was posted on her Instagram account.

In the footage, she shouts "Jin, Jiyan, Azadi (English: Women, Life, Freedom)”, the slogan of the popular uprising that sparked in Iran and Rojhilat Kurdistan in 2022, following the killing of Jina Mahsa Amini by Iran’s so-called “morality police”.

On November 16, 2024, Narges Mohammadi was taken back to prison after undergoing a surgery to remove a tumour in her right leg.
