News Center- The Democratic Women's Alliance in the Middle East and North Africa (NADA) released a written statement regarding the Turkish attacks on North and East Syria since October 5. “The attacks is against the people of the region,” the statement said.
The statement is as follows:
“Since October 4, 2023, the Turkish warplanes, drones, artillery and mortars have been targeting civilian settlements and vehicles, electric power stations, gas stations, water resources and energy supplies, oil fields, health centers, hospitals, schools and oil fields. Until now, 145 regions have been targeted. The aim of these attacks is to displace people from their homelands, change the demographic structure of the region and destabilize the region. What is noteworthy is that all the ongoing rights violations are openly committed, as usual, and the silence of the international community and international human rights organizations.”
Call for immediate end to the attacks
In the statement, the NADA saluted the resistance of the Palestinian people. “Defending their freedom and dignity is their legitimate right. We are against all rights violations. The attacks on North and East Syria and Palestine should be defined as war crimes and crimes against humanity. We call on the international community and human rights organizations to do what is necessary to end the barbaric attacks on both North and East Syria and Palestine and hold war criminals accountable. We also call for an immediate end to the oppression, cruelty and exploitation against people, especially against women and children in Sudan, Yemen, Western Sahara and other countries in the region.”
