Massacre in Deir Hafer: Victims arrive in Autonomous Administration

Deir Hafer and the neighborhoods of Aleppo witnessed a bloody escalation that left dozens of victims, including children and women, dead and wounded, before a ceasefire agreement was reached under international auspices.

News Center – The Tabqa district was the scene of a horrific massacre committed by Hayar Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) militants in the city of Deir Hafer, following heavy shelling that killed four civilians, including three girls: Fatima al-Ahmad (11 years old), Hamida Hilal (13 years old), and Ghram Tariq al-Hamad (13 years old), as well as Abdul Latif al-Sheikh Hussein (65 years old).

A suicide drone belonging to the same group also targeted the city's post office, causing material damage but no further casualties.

In a related development, victims of the shelling that struck the Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh, and Bani Zeid neighborhoods of Aleppo city arrived in areas of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (DAANES), where the wounded were transferred to hospitals to receive necessary treatment.

The attacks, which began on January 6 and lasted for five consecutive days, included heavy shelling with artillery and rockets, as well as ground attacks. The Khaled Fajr Hospital in the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood was also targeted. The attacks resulted in the death of 11 people, including children and women, and the injury of more than 70 civilians.

After a ceasefire agreement was reached between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Interim Government under international auspices, hundreds of residents in the city of Deir Hafer warmly welcomed the dead and wounded, in a scene that reflected the extent of solidarity with the residents of the besieged neighborhoods in Aleppo, while health institutions and the Kurdish Red Crescent began providing first aid and necessary treatment to the wounded.

Following the establishment of a ceasefire agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Interim Government, facilitated by international support, hundreds of residents of Deir Hafer warmly welcomed the dead and wounded. This scene illustrated the profound solidarity with those living in the besieged areas of Aleppo. Concurrently, health institutions and the Kurdish Red Crescent commenced the provision of first aid and essential medical treatment to the injured.
