The European Kurdish Women's National Union Initiative has issued a written statement, condemning Iran's Supreme Court’s reaffirmation of the death sentence handed down to labor activist Sharifeh Mohammadi, calling for action against the death penalty.

“Sharifeh Mohammadi is a symbol of freedom and resistance against misogyny and fascism,” the initiative said in the statement, demanding the immediate revocation of the death sentence handed down to the activist.

The initiative also called for action against the death sentences handed down to Pakhshan Azizi and Verisheh Moradi. It also called on Iran to call on the authorities to revoke the death sentences and human rights organizations not to remain silent against fascist practices in Iran.
