Kurdish activist arrested in Sanandaj

Baran Saedi, a Kurdish activist and women’s rights defender, was arrested and transferred to an unknown location by Iran’s security forces in Sanandaj on Monday.

News Center-Baran Saedi, a Kurdish activist and women’s rights defender, was arrested and transferred to an unknown location by agents of the IRGC's intelligence in Sanandaj on Monday.

 According to the local sources, she was arrested for her activities on International Women’s Day in Sanandaj.

The activist has previously been summoned and interrogated by agents of the IRGC’s intelligence for her activism.

Baran Saedi, 45, was arrested in Sanandaj on September 20, 2022, during the “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” revolutionary uprising. After about two months in a detention center in Sanandaj, she was released on bail.
