Kongra Star: The people of Kobanê will maintain their resistance

Kongra Star has released a written statement, condemning the Turkish drone strike that killed nine family members in the Berxbotan village of Kobanê on Sunday night, and the massacres carried out in the Syrian coastal region.

News Center- Kongra Star, an umbrella organization for all women’s organizations and institutions of North and East Syria, has released a written statement, condemning all attacks targeting civilians in Syria.

“The genocidal Turkish state has added another massacre to Kurdish history by attacking Kobanê on the anniversary of the Halabja massacre,” the statement said, recalling the Turkish drone strike on the Berxbotan village of Kobanê on Sunday night that killed nine family members.

“The Turkish state aims to break the resistance of the people of Kobanê by targeting women, children and elders.”

In the statement, Kongra Star also condemned the massacres carried out against the Alawite community in the Syrian coastal region and said, “It is clear that the government in Damascus has not taken any lesson from the mindset of the Baathist regime.”

Kongra Star also condemned the international silence against the brutal attacks targeting civilians in Syria. “As Kongra Star, we maintain our struggle to build a free, equal and democratic Syria. The people of Kobanê and the Syrian people will maintain their resistance.”
