News Center- The Israel army targeted civilian settlements and hospitals in the northern and southern parts of the Gaza Strip throughout the night.

The official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that Israeli airstrikes targeted the Sheikh Radwan district of Gaza, killing and injuring many Palestinians, including children and women.

At least 50 Palestinians killed in Israeli airstrikes in Gaza's Khan Yunis

According to Wafa, at least 50 Palestinian civilians were killed and dozens were injured as a result of Israeli airstrikes that targeted the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip and 10 other civilians were killed in an Israeli bombing that targeted a house in the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip. Kamal Adwan Hospital in Jabalia Camp was also targeted by Israeli forces. More than 7,000 displaced people have taken shelter in the hospital. Medical sources warned of a massacre that Israeli forces may commit inside Kamal Adwan Hospital, as happened in Al-Shifa and Indonesian hospitals.

According to the received reports, the Israeli military deployed armored vehicles and tanks in Khan Younis for a ground attack. Hundreds of Palestinians fleeing from northeast of Khan Younis have taken shelter near the Rafah Border Crossing.

Call for a political solution

Mirjana Spoljaric, president of the International Committee of the Red Cross, posted a video on social media and said that she had visited the European Gaza hospital. “The things I saw there are beyond anything that anyone should be in a position to describe. What shocked me the most were the children with atrocious injuries and at the same time having lost their parents with no one looking after them,” she said in the video.

She described the human suffering as “immense” and called for a “political solution” to end the fighting in the Palestinian territory. “There's not only a humanitarian solution to this, there must be a political one,” she said.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) announced on his social media account that WHO received a notification from the Israel Defense Forces that they should remove their supplies from our medical warehouse in southern Gaza within 24 hours, as ground operations will put it beyond use.

“We appeal to #Israel to withdraw the order, and take every possible measure to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure, including hospitals and humanitarian facilities,” he wrote.

UN call for a humanitarian ceasefire

At today’s noon briefing, Stéphane Dujarric, Spokesperson for the United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, answered the questions of journalists. “Civilians, esteemed scientists, journalists, UN staff workers, all of them dying in Gaza.  And this is why we want to renew our call for a humanitarian ceasefire.  Jordan, and then I will come back to the room. On the West Bank, we continue to be very worried about what we are seeing in the West Bank, intensifying Israeli operations, spiking of settler violence, high number of fatalities and arrests.” He said.

He also answered the questions regarding Gaza. “Gaza’s Middle Area was largely disconnected from the south, following Israeli forces’ prevention of movement, including of humanitarian supplies. Meanwhile, grave concerns about waterborne diseases due to water consumption from unsafe sources persist, particularly in the north, where the water desalination plant and the pipeline from Israel was shut down.”
