News Center- Qatar’s Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Majed al-Ansari announced Monday that the four-day truce between Israel and Hamas in Gaza has been extended by two days.

“The State of Qatar announces that, as part of the ongoing mediation, an agreement has been reached to extend the humanitarian truce for an additional two days in the Gaza Strip,” he said on X.

Israel previously said it would extend the truce by one day for every 10 more hostages released. According to the Times of Israel, Israeligovernment approved a list of 50 female Palestinian prisoners who are marked for potential early release as part of an agreement to extend a temporary truce with Hamas in Gaza and secure the release of nearly 20 more Israelis held hostage by Hamas since October 7. Palestinian activist Ahed Tamimi is reportedly one of the 50 Palestinian prisoners on the list.

Since the beginning of the truce, 51 Israelis have been released by Hamas and 150 Palestinian prisoners held by Israel have been released.
