Israel deports four Madleen activists

Four activists aboard the Madleen boat, including activist Greta Thunberg have been deported from Israel, the Israeli foreign ministry said in a post on Tuesday.

News Center- The 12 activists aboard the Gaza Freedom Flotilla’s Madleen boat were intercepted and detained by Israeli forces on Monday. Then, the boat was towed to the port of Ashdod. The activists were taken to the Ben Gurion airport for deportation early Tuesday morning.

In a new post on social media platform X, the Israeli foreign ministry announced that four activists, including Swedish activist Greta Thunberg, were deported from Israel on a flight to Sweden (via France).

Eight activists remain in detention

Eight activists, including European Parliament Member Rima Hassan, refused to sign the deportation documents, Israel's public broadcaster Kan reported, saying that the activists would be transferred to a detention facility in the city of Gibeon.

“Our consul was able to see the six French nationals arrested by the Israeli authorities last night,” French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said on X. “One of them has agreed to leave voluntarily and should return today. The other five will be subject to forced deportation proceedings.”
