In an interview with Bianet, theater and film actor Shailin Asadollahi stated that she was detained because someone she had previously argued with and filed a complaint against had also filed a complaint against her. The actor mentioned that she continued her education in Turkey as a student and expressed deep sadness about her detention.
“I would like to express my endless thanks to my friends, feminists and activists in Turkey to struggle for my release. Although my status for deportation to Iran is still uncertain, I thank all the lawyers and my loved ones who helped me to prevent my deportation,” Shailin Asadollahi wrote on her social media account after her release.
