Iran’s morality police resume patrols in Sanandaj

Iran’s morality police resume patrols in the streets of Sanandaj, warning women who do not wear the hijab correctly but women are determined not to take a step back.

Sanandaj- 10 months after the killing of Jina Mahsa Amini by Iran’s morality police, the morality police are again patrolling in the streets of Sanandaj. Female morality police officers in black veils were seen around the Azadi Square of the city. Women, who do not wear the hijab ‘correctly’, have been warned by the morality police.

As the anniversary of Jina Mahsa Amini's death approaches, the return of morality police sparks anger among people. NuJINHA spoke to some women at the Azadi Square. They told us they would never take a step back because, “We will be oppressed for the rest of our lives if we fail.”
