Internet shutdowns in Sistan and Baluchestan Province
While some areas of Sistan and Baluchestan Province of Iran suffer from severe disruption to internet service, some areas suffer from total internet shutdowns.
News Center- Since the call for protests in Sistan and Baluchestan Province of Iran, the people living in some areas of the province have been suffering from severe disruption to internet service while some have been suffering from a total internet shutdowns, according to the reports of the local press outlets.
According to the reports, the Iranian government has reduced internet traffic in the province, especially in Zahedan, to block access to platforms such as Instagram and WhatsApp.
On September 30, 2022, the Iranian security forces opened fire on protesters gathering and chanting in front of a police station near the Great Mosalla of Zahedan, killing and injuring dozens protesters. The attack by the Iranian security forces on protesters is also known as “Bloody Friday”. Since then, many people have come together in Zahedan on Friday to protest the regime.
